NC Chapter of the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives

NCACPM

The North Carolina Chapter of NACPM was established in the Fall of 2015 to strengthen the community of CPMs across NC.  The Association offers continuing education opportunities, peer review and advocacy for CPMs.  NACPM envisions a primary maternity care system in our country where all women access care through a midwife, where birth place is the choice of the family, and where all women and babies have the same chance to be healthy.

NACPM’s purpose is to be a powerful, collective voice for Certified Professional Midwives. We strengthen and support excellence in the profession and influence maternal health policy to ensure that all mothers and babies have a healthy start.

Our members provide healthcare for women throughout the lifespan, with a special emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic and reproductive health. NCACNM works with its members and other professional organizations, state agencies and programs to advance the well-being of women and infants through the practice of midwifery.

NC Midwives Alliance is modeled after the Midwives Alliance of North America. We are a bridge organization for midwives, student midwives, apprentices, and aspiring midwives in North Carolina.  As a unifying and inclusive alliance of midwives, NCMA provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing community for midwives of all backgrounds. We honor and rejoice in diversity, autonomy, and the strength of unity.

Our Mission is to support the well-being of one another, help ease the isolation of midwifery practice, and to offer opportunities for togetherness and learning. We seek to be a part of all efforts to unify midwifery in North Carolina.
