The NC Community Birth Summit November 8-10, 2019

In November 2019 the first annual NC Community Birth Summit was held at the ECU College of Nursing. NCMERA held space for some 40 members of the NC perinatal healthcare system and together we broke barriers that have existed for decades in our state. The Summit created a strong network of concerned consumers, providers, doulas, community leaders, nurses, and organizations all committed to increasing access to quality care for ALL NC families.

The NC Community Birth Summit was facilitated by NC company Engaging Inquiry, we built the foundation of a systems map of healthcare in our state. This map is a groundbreaking tool for reforms and collaboration within the NC perinatal health system. Please see the powerpoint below for more information and stay tuned for opportunities to get involved! (powerpoint best viewed in full screen mode)

We are thrilled to share these images from our weekend together. They provide insight into the process we undertook in developing the systems map and inspiration for further collaboration and map building in our community.
